Raymond J. Seigler

Raymond J. Seigler, Sr., 65, of Bath, Pa. passed away on Thursday July 19, 2012 at the Hospice House of St. Luke's in Bethlehem, Pa. He was born on August 27, 1946 in Somerville, N.J., son of the late Stephen and Nellie (Severyn) Seigler.

Raymond was a postal worker in Somerville and Bridgewater, N.J. for 30 years. He was a long time President of the local chapter of his union. In that capacity, he fought with great pride and tenacity for the rights of his fellow union members. He was also a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Concord during the Vietnam War.

He will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Ruth Stevens of Bath, Pa., sons Raymond J. Seigler Jr. of Bedminster, N.J. and Ryan A. Seigler of San Angelo, Texas, brothers, Stephen Seigler and wife Gail of Hillsborough, N.J., and Theodore Seigler and wife Francine of Manville, N.J., sisters, Evelyn Iszak wife of Louis of Roebling, N.J., Nellie Mahilo wife of George of Manville, N.J., Phyllis Gianfaga wife of Mike of Freemont, Ca., and Patricia Sidorski wife of Dennis of Hillsborough, N.J., numerous nieces and nephews, and also 2 beloved dogs, Rufus and Trouble.

He was predeceased by brothers, Richard, Henry, Daniel, and a sister, Caroline Marinock, step-brothers, Edward, Alfred "Freddy", and step-sisters, Mildred Otrimski, and Gertrude Franzoso.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem, Pa. is in charge of the arrangements.
