Reinaldo Luquis Gonzalez

Reinaldo Luquis Gonzalez, 77, of Allentown, passed away unexpectedly, at home, on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Born on February 10, 1946, in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Rafael Luquis Santos and Providencia Gonzalez Hernandez.

Following graduation from Caguas Vocational-Technical School, he went to work in different jobs and later decided to attend the University of Turabo to further his education.

In 1987, Reinaldo and his family immigrated to the United States, settling in Bethlehem. He went to work for Atlantic States Cast Iron in Phillipsburg, N.J.

Outside of work, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved taking spontaneous trips around the island and tent camping by the beach. Additionally, he enjoyed collecting antique model cars and baseball caps, as well as watching television. He had a good sense of humor and loved telling jokes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother: Ramades Luquis Gonzalez; and one sister: Maria Esther Luquis.

Reinaldo will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Miriam Luquis; two sons: Raffy R. Luquis and Jaime Luquis (Sharon); one daughter: Sharon Luquis-Nieves (David); seven grandchildren: Zoraida and Rafael Luquis, Daniel, Andrew, Gabriel, and Alexander Nieves, and Layla Luquis; one brother: Rafael Luquis Gonzalez; two sisters: Isabel and Raquel Luquis Gonzalez; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A second viewing will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, from 10:00am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, in church, at 11:00am.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.
