Richard "Dick" Magan

Richard L. “Dick” Magan, 69, of Bethlehem, died unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He was born in Bethlehem, son of the late William and Hazel (Carr) Magan. He was the husband of Barbara (Stiffinella) Magan. Dick graduated from Liberty High School and later received his Sheriffs Certification from Dickinson College. He was a motorcycle police officer for the city of Bethlehem for 27 years. He then worked as a Deputy Sheriff for 14 years for the county of Northampton. After retirement, he delivered auto parts. Dick served his country as a United States Marine for eight years. He was an avid Harley rider and body builder. In 1990, he won Mr. Natural Lehigh Valley Masters.

He will be lovingly remembered by wife, Barbara; son, Robert “Bobby” Magan and fianc, Terri Wright, of Upper Marlboro, MD; daughter, Sharon Magan and companion, Kyle Myers, of Allentown; brother, Harry “P-nuts” Magan of Bethlehem; sister, Shirley Eshbach and husband, William, of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Brian and Amanda; great-grandson, Jake; step-grandson, Daniel McFetridge; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Wanda J. Magan; brothers, William and Robert; and sister, Fanny Hartranft.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be on Monday, from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231.
