Richard Digiacomo Dee

September 12, 1928 — January 2, 2015

Richard DiGiacomo Dee, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, January 02, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was born in Summit Hill, PA, the son of the late Thomas and Erma (Ferrett) DiGiacomo. He was the loving husband of Marion (Revtyak) Dee. They were married for over 64 years.

Richard excelled at football and basketball at Summit Hill High School. He graduated from Moravian College where he also played football. He was a teacher at Hellertown High School before becoming the Director of Personnel and Public Relations at St. Lukes Hospital. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church for close to 60 years.

He also was the owner of several businesses including Dee Associates, Dee Printing, T.E. Dee, Inc. and Smirne Plastic, Inc. He was inducted into the Carbon County Area Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion; sons, Richard D. Dee II of Bethlehem; James D. Dee and wife Patricia, of Moorestown, NJ; Robert D. Dee and wife Lori, of Allentown; and Michael D. Dee and wife, Celeste, of Allentown; his brother, Louis DiGiacomo; sister, Clara Ann Klapac; and his five grandchildren, Brianna, Nicholas, Katerina, Anthony, and Larissa. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph DiGiacomo.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 05, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be in the church from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send a donation to the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Parish Center.
