Richard E. Fraley, Jr., 60, of Bethlehem, PA died Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital at the Cedar Crest Campus. Born October 6, 1958 in Winchester, VA he was the son of Kathleen (Yetter) Fraley of Harrisburg and the late Richard E. Fraley. He was married to Kimberly (McCartney) Fraley with whom he celebrated 36 years of marriage this past July 23rd.
Richard worked for Lehigh Valley Heavy Forge and previously worked for the Bethlehem Steel in the Homer Research Laboratory. He was a member of Grace Church Bethlehem. Richard graduated with a BA in Physics from Millersville University and with a Masters Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Lehigh University. He was actively involved with the Lehigh Southside Booster Club. When his son played baseball and daughter played softball for Northeast Little League, Richard would volunteer his time as a coach and treasurer for the league. He also volunteered his time with Cub Scouts troop 343 and Boy Scouts troop 362. Richard was a member of the Bath Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting at the rifle range.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kim, mother, Kathy, son, Christopher Ryan Fraley and his wife, Rosemary of Bethlehem, daughter, Amy Elizabeth Fraley of Zurich, Switzerland, and sister, Susan Kay Fry and husband, Ken of Camp Hill, PA.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Grace Church Bethlehem, 521 E. Locust St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 12-2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Richards name to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 155 East 55th St., Suite 6H, New York, NY 10022.
