Richard "Rich" O. Ellis, 74, of Bethlehem passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Ruth (McHale) Ellis. Rich was born in Fountain Hill on October 3, 1950 to the late Winfield and Lorraine (Eckroade) Ellis. He proudly served in the United States Navy, exemplifying his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he pursued an associate degree and found his career in the computer production industry at Western Electric/Lucent/Agere, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. After retirement he got his CDL and drove truck for Joe Corbi delivering school fundraisers. He also drove for Kulp Car Rental and Country Cleaners. He enjoyed the camaraderie of friends, at the Lehigh Valley Mall, and the Philadelphia sports scene, finding joy in cheering for the Eagles and Phillies, and proudly supporting Penn State. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 50 years; son: Jason Ellis; daughter: Mary Jo (Billy) Nemchik; brother: Craig (Kathy) Ellis; sister: Cindy Lou Ellis.
Service: Family and friends are invited to his viewing 12-1pm Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Wesley United Methodist, Church, 2540 Center Street, Bethlehem followed by a service at 1pm. The burial with Military Honors will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. Condolences may be offered online at www.connellfuneral.com
