Richard F. Cook

Richard F. Cook, 74, of Whitehall went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 25, 2011. He passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Born in Trenton N.J. he was the son of the late Raymond Orville Cook and Eleanor Mappes Cook. He and his wife Carol Koch were married May 19, 1994 on a three masted Schooner at sunset out of Key West, Fla. The ship was operated by an all female crew, including the Captain who married them.

Richard held professional and managerial positions with the manufacturing component of AT&T formerly Western Electric, now Lucent. Most of his 25 years with AT&T were at the Engineering Research Center in Princeton, NJ. He retired in 1990. He also worked on a part time basis for J.C. Penny in the Lehigh Valley Mall. He was a 1974 Honor Graduate in Accounting and Business Administration from Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ. He had been a School Board Director in the Moorisville, PA School District. He was an active member of Bethany Wesleyan Church in Cherryville, PA.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol, daughters Cherie Tyler and her husband Michael of Allentown and Susan Mooney and her husband Peter of Jackson, NJ, step daughter Jamie L. Whisman of Wayne, PA , brother David A. Cook of Largo, FL, sisters Roberta Kline and her husband Fred of Bath, Karen Caron of New Jersey. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Eric and Brittany Tyler, Joseph, Dennis and Jessica Mooney, Liam and Jillian Gorman and Daniel McFetridge. He was preceded in death by a step daughter Wanda Magan and a sister-in law Loretta L. Lindsey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem. Calling hours will be from 6 -8pm on Monday, March 28, 2011 in the Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mountain Dr., Cherryville 18035. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 29, at 11am in the church.
