Richard G. Simmers

Richard G. Simmers, 74, formerly of Quakertown, passed away at his residence on Tuesday February 4, 2014. He was born on August 9, 1939 in Bethlehem, son of the late Eugene and Katherine (Dimler) Simmers. He was the husband of the late Eleanor “Alex” (Mount) Simmers.

Richard was a salesman for Crescent Lighting. He was a veteran of US Navy serving on the USS Forestall. He was a graduate of Liberty High School Class of 1957.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Scott Simmers of Hatfield, Kyle Simmers of Harleysville, and Christopher Simmers of Tenn., step-son, Joseph Snyder of Md., brother, David Simmers of Bethlehem, and 2 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Sean Simmers, and a brother, Robert Simmers.

A Memorial Service will be held 11am Friday February 21, 2014 at the Friedens Lutheran Church (3 mi. S of Rt.378 Bethlehem) Friedensville, Pa. Calling period will be from 10:30am-11am at the church. Burial will be at the Friedensville Cemetery.
