Richard H. Kleintop

March 31, 1916 — March 19, 2012

Richard H. Pop Kleintop, peacefully passed away into the immediate presence of the Lord and reunited with his loving wife of 60 years, Alice F. Titus Kleintop on March 19, 2012. He was born March 31, 1916 to Howard D. and Anna M. King Kleintop in Bethlehem. Rich was a graduate of Liberty High School, where he played viola and violin in the Orchestra. After 45 years of service, Rich retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a First Floor Foreman at the Central Tool Machine Shop.Rich was a life long member of West Side Moravian Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent for 40 years, was a member of the Sacrastans Corp and the Dart Ball Team. Rich was a member of the Lehigh South Side Booster Club, Monacacy Fire Co. and the West Side Republican Club. He was also a member of the Bethlehem Steel Club where he was an avid golfer. Pop was one of Bethlehems biggest baseball fans. He followed North Central Little League, Jr. Legion and Legion Baseball and Connie Mack. His greatest joy was watching his grandson play baseball for the Liberty Hurricanes and Lehigh Mountain Hawks.

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Linda McBride and son-in-law George McBride, and Carol Schneider and her husband Don; three grandchildren, Trey Schneider and his wife Cathy, Jill and her husband Russell Sherrill, and Matthew McBride; as well as four great grandchildren, Allie, Emmie and AJ Schneider and Luke Sherrill. He was preceded in death by his brothers John and Douglas.

Services: The family will receive friends on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at West Side Moravian Church, 402 3rd Ave. Bethlehem PA 18018 with a funeral service to immediately follow at 10 a.m.
