Richard J. Facinelli

Richard J. Facinelli, 90, of Bethlehem Township, died on Monday, November 20, 2017. He was born December 18, 1926 in Hazleton, PA; son of the late William and Esther (Rossi) Facinelli. Richard was the husband of 61 years to Marie A. (Garganta) Facinelli.

Richard served in the US Army as a truck driver and mechanic during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines. He worked as an installer for Bell Telephone Company; retiring in 1989 after 33 years of service. Richard was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his sons.

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Francine M. of Allentown; sons, James R. and his wife, Jacqueline of Dunedin, FL; Anthony W. and his wife, Gail of Bethlehem; and John M. and his wife, Michele of Nazareth; as well as seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his extended family. Richard was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathryn Scarlato and Doris Brankovich and his brothers, Henry Facinelli and William Facinelli.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a service to immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The School Sisters of St. Francis, 395 Bridle Path Road Bethlehem, PA 18017.
