Richard Wright

November 20, 1924 — December 19, 2007

Richard ?Orville? J. Wright, born in Dunkirk, NY, November 20, 1924, passed away December 19, 2007 at Moravian Village, in Bethlehem. He was the son of the late Frances Boyle and Willard Wright.

A lifelong resident of Fountain Hill, he was a veteran of WWII where he served on the Aircraft Carrier Hollandia. Richard was a longtime member of St. Ursula?s Catholic Church, where he was active in several Minstrel Shows that were sponsored by the church. He remained in the military, working as an aircraft mechanic and technician at Willow Grove Naval Air Station until he retired in 1989 as a Master Sergeant.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was happiest when spending time at his cabin in the Pocono?s.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Jean Buckley of New Bern, NC, Nephews Rich and Guy Kuklentz of Bethlehem Township, Tom Buckley of Keokuk, Iowa, Dave Buckley of Gastonia, NC, Niece Deb Blatt of Richland, Mass, and his companion and significant other of the past 35 years Roberta ?Bobby? Fomby.

Richard was a wonderful man, a great friend and companion, an uncle among uncles, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by his friends and family.

Services:

A calling hour will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 27, 2007 at St. Ursula?s Catholic Church 1300 Broadway Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke?s Rehabilitation Center 2301 Cherry Lane Bethlehem, PA 18015.
