Rita A. Lipka

Rita A. Lipka, 86, of Bethlehem, PA passed away on July 21, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Anna (Getcek) and Stephen Raykos. Rita was the loving wife of the late Francis “Flip” Lipka for 40 years, prior to his passing in 1991.

Rita was a member of St. Annes Catholic Church. She worked at the Prembrook and Muriel Dress Companies for many years and was a member of the ILGWU. She was also a member of the S.S. Simon and Jude Seniors Club and National Sokols. Known to many as “Grammy Rita”, Rita enjoyed volunteering at Spring Garden and James Buchanan elementary schools. Rita enjoyed doing laundry, sewing, baking kiffles, making pierogis and halupki and carrying out holiday traditions. Rita was her grandchildren and great grandchildrens number one fan. She supported all of her grandsons by spending countless hours at sporting events and school functions from nursery school through college.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Mary Ann DEmilio and Barbara A. McCauley; brother, Joseph Raykos and his wife Barbara; grandchildren, Ryan McCauley and his wife Debra, Justin McCauley and his wife Jennifer, Kyle McCauley and Adam DEmilio and his wife Courtney and great grandchildren, Angelina Jade and Lochlan Freddie. Rita was preceded in death by her son, Francis Lipka; brothers, Stephen, Edward, George and Robert Raykos and sisters, Anna Urich, Helen Sollossi and Kathryn “Kitty” Nauman.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 10-11:30 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave. Bethlehem PA, 18017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
