Rita Ann Meister

Rita Ann Meister, 71, of Bethlehem passed away on Saturday August 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Frackville, PA, the daughter of the late Elmer and Albina (Melefsky) Homberger. She was the wife of Stephen F. Meister. They celebrated 47 years of marriage on August 14th.

Rita was devoted to her loving and supportive husband, children, and especially her grandchildren. She was a selfless individual. Rita loved taking care of others. She worked many years nurturing infants and later retired to ensure that all of her grandchildren were cared for as her own. She loved to cook, bake, and spend time at the beach with her family. She enjoyed sitting alongside her husband on the boardwalk watching the beautiful sunsets and listening to the ocean. Watching the children frolic in the waves always made her smile. Rita also enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping and winning at the casino with her husband.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen, son, Kevin Meister and wife Lynette, daughters, Sherry Craig and husband Ron, and Lisa Meister, and grandchildren , Brooke, Carter, Logan, and Lily. She was predeceased by her brother, John D. Homberger.

A viewing will held from 9am-12 noon on Friday August 31, 2018 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
