Robert H. Griffiths

Robert H. Griffiths, 91, of Center Valley, died Tuesday, February 3,

2009 at LV Hospital.

He was born December 14, 1917, in Coaldale, PA; the son of the late

Leroy and Irene StoutGriffiths.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Kulick Griffiths in

1995.

He was a graduate of Coaldale High School and in 1952 graduated from

Moravian College.

Robert retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. in 1983 after 43 years of

service as a Millwright in the Blast Furnace Dept.

He was a member of Church of the Assumption B.V.M. Colesville.

Robert will be lovingly remembered by his family, sons, Robert H.

Griffiths, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Emmaus; Joseph J. Griffiths and

his wife Karen of Zionsville; daughters, Suzanne wife of Dimitri

Diamandopoulos of Hanover Twp. and Helen J. wife of Howard Schwartz of

Pinehurst, NC as well as nine grandchildren and nine great

grandchildren.

He is also survived by his best friend Mary Legrado.

He was preceded in death by his brother and three sisters.

Robert enjoyed spending time at his second home in Canada. He shared

his love of the outdoors by coordinating canoeing trips in the northern

woods into Canada for local Boy Scouts. Robert was known by many of

these Scouts as "Mr. G".

Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem.

The family will receive friends on Friday February 6, 2009 from 9-10am

at Church of the Assumption B.V.M. Colesville; 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike

Bethlehem, PA 18015 with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately

follow at 10 AM in the church.

Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
