Robert L. Geiger

Robert L. Geiger, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in his home. Born in Bethlehem on October 6, 1924; he was the son of the late Richard L. and Florence M. (Brader) Geiger. He was the loving husband of the late Susan H. (Schneider) Geiger, they were married 62 years.

He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 1986 after 37 years. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, a member of the American Legion and of St. Lukes Old Williams Lutheran Church, Williams Township. He was active in the Bethlehem Raiders, Little League and Liberty High School Booster Club. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son Craig Geiger & wife Marilyn; daughter, Patricia Yancy & husband Dennis; grandchildren, Doug Geiger & wife Adria, Tiffany and Tara Hallowell; great grandsons, Cole and Chase Geiger. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Geiger; son, Robert Geiger; sisters, Betty Osmond and Eleanor Walling; brothers, Richard, William and Charles.

Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, on Friday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A 10:30 a.m. funeral service will follow in the funeral home.
