Robert William Prebosnyak

Robert (Bob) William Prebosnyak, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home. Born on September 21, 1944, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late William James Prebosnyak and Betty Mae Paulus.

Bob graduated from Liberty High School before joining the United States Army and later working for the Bethlehem Steel's PBNE Railroad. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his quick wit and infectious laugh. Undoubtedly, he was just a big kid at heart. Family was everything to Bob, and his wife Kathryn (Kate) was the love of his life. Together they shared 56 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

When he wasn't working, Bob loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing Wii Golf, canoeing, hiking, kayaking and diving into a good book. He had a passion for life and always made time for the things that brought him joy.

Bob will be dearly missed by his wife, Kate; two sons, Mike (Mary) Prebosnyak and Scott (Laura Robbins) Prebosnyak; daughter, Sherri Prebosnyak; two brothers, Ronald and Ed Schmidt; two sisters, Joni Schmidt and Judy Schmidt-Alban; and seven grandchildren, Zachary, Kayleigh, Lex, Reese, Paige, Parker, and Felicity.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Barry Prebosnyak; step-mother, Irene Prebosnyak and step-father, Ted Schmidt.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment with military honors will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
