Ron F. Nickischer passed from the arms, but not the hearts of his loving family on November 19, 2010. He was a resident of Bethlehem and was 68 years old.
He will be deeply missed by wife, Rosemary; son, Brent and his wife Amy; son, Todd and his two rays of sunshine, granddaughters, Morgan and Taylor, his mother Anna of Northampton, brother Ken and his wife Mary of Easton, brother, Frank of Allentown; aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and other dear friends.
Ron was a graduate of Northampton High School. He excelled in academics and many sports, which were his passion. He later attended the former East Stroudsburg Teacher's College. In an effort to support himself financially, and follow a childhood dream, he became a professional boxer. After 22 consecutive wins by knockout, he retired and entered the business field.
He was employed by the former Bethlehem Fabricator's as the head purchasing agent and advisor to the president of the company. His many projects included the purchase of steel and coordination of fabrication for the sculpture of unity in Historic Bethlehem, the Martin Towers project, the Twin Towers of New York City, and a more distant project for the space administration at Cape Canaveral.
Ron later was a regional manager for the former Morris-Wheeler Company, one of the oldest companies in Philadelphia, for over 10 years before retiring.
His passion for helping others lead to extensive community service, primarily through his involvement with the Northwest Bethlehem Lions Club. Along with other offices, he held the presidency in 1980-1981. He was an active member for twenty years.
Although Ron was an avid gardener, please no flowers. As a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church contributions to his memory may be made there 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem PA 18015 or to St. Luke's Hospital 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem PA 18015. Services will be private.
