Ronald C. “Ron” Haas, 74, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House.
Born on April 14, 1949, in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Beverly DiSanto.
Ron graduated from Shamokin Area High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. He was an instrumental teacher for the Bethlehem Area School District—where he had a profound impact on many students over the years and will be remembered for his kind heart and joyfulness. Ron played for the Lehigh Valley Pops and volunteered for various organizations including, St. Luke’s Hospital and Cops with Kids. He also directed the Valley Community Orchestra. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, tinkering with his train display, and nutcracker collection.
Ron will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 years, Sandra D. (Nagy) Haas; brother, Jeff (Janet) Haas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen DiSanto.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 6-9:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem Area School District Musical Department.
