Ronald J. Thompson

Ronald J. Thompson, 71, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, September 24, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Homer A. Thompson, Sr. and Elizabeth J. (Wellington) Thompson. He was the loving husband to Thelma “Terri” (Oliver) Thompson.

Ron proudly served his country during Vietnam as a Corporal in the USMC from 1962 - 1966. He worked as a clerk for Wakefern Co., Breinigsville, and authored the novel “Danced with the Devil” in 2009. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Lehigh Valley Det. 296.

Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Thelma “Terri”; sons, Michael and Richard; brothers, Bill and Barry of Florida; and Homer of New Jersey; a sister, Ruth Drass also of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A 12 p.m. funeral service with military honors will follow, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
