Ronald R. Achey

Ronald R. Achey, 61, of West Bethlehem died Thursday morning at his home.

He and his wife Theresa August celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary this past September.

Born in Bethlehem Ron was the son of the late Warren and Florence Petrucella Achey.

After graduating from Liberty High School in 1965 he joined the U.S. Navy proudly serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

Ron worked for PB&NE Railroad for 30 years retiring in 1997 as a supervisor of Car Service.

He was a member of Holy Infancy Church in Bethlehem.

Ron was a very special person with many interests. He was an avid bowler since age 9 bowling with the Bethlehem Panthers and the Traveling League. He was a motorcycle and train enthusiast, and an avid Phillies and Minnesota Vikings fan. He truly loved the Achey and August gatherings where he spent time with his many nieces and nephews. He loved long car rides and playing cards.

Surviving with his wife Theresa is his daughter Melissa Achey of Somerset, N.J. and his sister Judith wife of Michael Kutch of Bath, Pa.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Infancy Church 312 E. Fourth Street Bethlehem, Pa.

Visitation will be on Monday 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday 8: 15 a.m. to 9: 15 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
