Rosa M. Cruz

Rosa M. Cruz, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in her home. She was born January 21, 1927 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Benigno Arregui and Rosario Alvarado. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband of more than 35 years, Heriberto Cruz Burgos in 2005.

Rosa retired from Lehigh University after 20 years of service as a custodian. She was an active parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church. Rosa was also a member of the Puerto Rican Club Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her joy of cooking.

Family was very important to Rosa and she will be dearly missed by her son, Heriberto “Eddie” Burgos and his fianc, Marilyn Rodriguez and the many members of her extended family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday at holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
