Rosaria M. Herceg

Rosaria Morganelli Herceg passed away at 90 years of age.

She was born in Bethlehem on April 9, 1927 to Barbara and Angelo Morganelli. After graduating from high school, Rosie began working as a secretary at the Bethlehem Steel Co. She married her soul mate, Larry Herceg on August 1948 after he returned from serving in WWII.

In order to devote more time to her children, Rose became a seamstress at Laros Mfg. Co. in Bethlehem. Her dream had always been to become a nurse. Later in life, she fulfilled her wish, attending and graduating with honors. She worked at Holy Family Manor until her retirement. Rose was named Nurse of the Year in 1972.

She enjoyed her bowling and golf leagues. She was an active volunteer in LARC and was a member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Rosaria was an independent, strong woman who worked her whole life, but always had compassion, great wit, and the love of giving to all she knew. She will be greatly missed.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Loretta Aridgides and husband Steve, her grandson, Mark Aridgides and wife, Cathi, her granddaughter, Lynn Lewin and husband Dave, seven amazing great grandchildren, Emma 17, Henry 15, Steve 14, Alex 12, Alison 10, Kai 7 and Joy 4, her sister, Angeline Rieger and husband James and sister-in-law, Marguerite Morganelli.

Meeting Rose in heaven will be her husband of almost 70 years, Lawrence, her daughter, Barbara, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, from 9-11 AM followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery on Linden St. in Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be mailed to VIA of the Lehigh Valley, 336 W. Spruce St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
