Rose Josephine Lucas

June 8, 1913 — April 13, 2011

Rose Josephine Crocus Lucas, 97, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born June 8, 1913 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Josephine Golinsky and Thomas Crocus. She was married to Thomas Lucas who passed away on April 25, 1968.

Rose worked for over forty years as a registered nurse at the Allentown State Hospital. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bethlehem, where she was very active. She was involved with the Ladies of Charity, the Sodality, making perogies and would even take charge in running bus trips to New York City and Atlantic City. While at Holy Family Manor she was active with the Welcoming Committee.

Rose will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Thomas Lucas and wife Margaret and Theodore Lucas and wife Sara, brothers, Bernard Krokus and Edward Crocus. She will also be remembered by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her son, Alfred Lucas, brothers, Theodore and Thomas Crocus and sisters, Wanda O'Shea and Mary Meyers.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Holy Family Manor Chapel, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 11 AM-12 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rose's Name to the charity of ones choice.
