Rose M. Kovacs

Rose M. Shegina Kovacs, 99, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Alexandria Manor in Bethlehem. Born February 25, 1912 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Mary and John Shegina. She was married to Stephen F. Kovacs with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage this past August 12th.

Rose was a member at the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bethlehem and currently at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She was also a member of the First Ladies Slovak Union. One of Rose's favorite things to do was to listen and dance to polka music.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen Kovacs of Bethlehem and sister, Margaret Shegina of CA. She will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Joseph Shegina and sisters, Dorothy Howell, Arlene Gorcsan and Anna Newhard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020 at 10 AM. A calling period will be held in the church from 9-10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
