Rose Marie John

Rose Marie John, 78, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday June 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 29, 1934 in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Robert and Johanna (Stranzl) Fondl. Rose Marie was the devoted wife of George "Skip" John, Jr. for 58 years. She was a parishioner of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Rose Marie dedicated her life to her family and will be lovingly remembered by her children, George "Skip" John and his wife Annemarie; Bruce John and his wife Kathleen; Jacqueline Krause and her husband Jeffrey and Michael John and his wife Kelly all of Bethlehem. Rose Marie's legacy will also live on in her grandchildren, Maria wife of Paul Marzen, George "Skip" John, David John, Amy Jo John, Justin John, Jacob John, Kaitlyn John, Michael John, Robert McClarin and his wife Kathryn, Matthew McClarin and his wife Jennifer, and Michael McClarin, as well as her great grandchildren, Lilah, Elizabeth and Mickie McClarin and Emma Marzen. She will also be dearly missed by her brother, Paul and his wife Jane and her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Fondl, Rosie John, Terri Sarik and Pat John.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary and Emma Fondl and her brothers, Robert and Rudolph Fondl.

Rose Marie was active as a Brownie and Cub Scout Leader, enjoyed babysitting, game playing, spending time with her grandchildren, card club, traveling with her husband and shore vacations.

A viewing will be held on Sunday June 24, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Monday from 8:30-9:30 AM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley hospice 2166 S 12th St # 101 Allentown, PA 18103 and/or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place
