Rose Mary Young

Rose Mary (Boyle) Young, 87, of Bethlehem, PA died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Gracedale in Nazareth. Born October 12, 1924 in Sugar Notch, PA she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Watters) Boyle. Rose was married to Daniel Joseph Young with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage until his death on April 14, 2011.

Rose was a business teacher at Notre Dame High School from 1964 to 1989. After retiring she continued to work as a substitute teacher and tutor. Rose was a founding member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters; Marilyn Hollinger; Rosanne Young; Peggy Edris and her husband Galen; Betsy Hawke; Judith Murphy and her husband Brian, and Diane Elliott and her husband Chris. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Hollinger, Rebecca Engle, Justin Misero, Jennifer and Jessica Edris, Dana, Mary and John Lucente, Gina Kostic, Timothy and Tyler Young-Guzman, Matthew, Kyle and Shea Elliott; and great grandchildren, Keith and Ryland Hollinger, Grace Edris, Brady Mansfield, Ethan Reaser, Noah, Zachary and Dylan Kostic, Michael Cobb, Curren, Kaylan and Jordison Young-Guzman and her beloved dog, Prince.

Rose was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Lucente, brothers, James, Cornelius, Edward, Manus and Raymond Boyle, sister, Mary Curry, and sons-in-law, Edward Longenbach and Keith Hollinger.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another calling hour will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 9-10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020, with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rose's name to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or to Notre Dame High School, 3417 Church Road, Easton, PA 18045 .
