Rose Carnish Phillipeck, 93, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, at home. She was born on August 22nd, 1931, and grew up in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. In 1949, she graduated from Summit Hill High School. Rose married Wally Phillipeck on July 9, 1955 and moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Rose loved her family dearly and brought warmth and light to everyone around her. She was always kind and loving. She would go out of her way to brighten everyone's day. Rose was very creative and inventive. She was always crafting and coming up with new ideas. She loved Christmas and made crafts for the family's annual gift exchange and enjoyed making her famous pierogies for Christmas Eve Supper. Rose loved to dance with Wally, bake cookies, tend to her flowers, crochet carpets out of plastic bags, take photographs, and spend time with her family. On Sundays, she would watch football and cheer on her Eagles.
Rose was an incredibly talented and hard worker who worked as a seamstress for over 40 years, sewing clothes for Van Heusen and Saks Fifth Avenue. She was very devout in her faith as a Catholic and was a longtime member of St. Cyril & Methodious Catholic Church. (Incarnation of Our Lord Church)
Rose will be dearly missed by her husband of 69 years, Wally Phillipeck, her daughter Cathleen Borso, and her son Mark Phillipeck and his wife Lisa. She has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and was affectionately known as Grammy.
She was predeceased by her mother Barbara Lawrence Carnish and her father John Peter Carnish, her siblings Joseph "Chubby" Carnish, Johnny Carnish, Bertha Nagy Ferance and Elizabeth Carnish.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street Bethlehem, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Incarnation of Our Lord Church, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA. Rose will be laid to rest at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
