Rose Wolst Ortwein

May 28, 1931 — February 17, 2007

Rose Wolst Ortwein, 75, lifelong resident of Bethlehem, died on

Saturday, February 17, 2007 at York Hospital.

She was born in Bethlehem, the devoted daughter of the late Anton

and Rose Zaun Wolst.

Rose attended the one room schoolhouse, Boyer School, in her elementary school days; she later graduated from Wilson High School in the class of 1949. She went on to earn her Degree from St. Luke?s

Nursing School. Rose was a Registered Nurse for 25 years, practicing at St. Luke's and as a private duty nurse.

Rose was a faithful parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem for over 50 years where she was a member of the Sodality.

Previously, she attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights.

Rose loved to walk in the forest and observe nature in all its splendor. She enjoyed helping others and supported many charities. She was also an avid fan of her grandchildren following their participation in sports, music, scouting and many other activities.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Teresa A., wife

of Robert F. Kehm of York, PA; Tom Ortwein, husband of Linda of Greenwich, CT; Roseann, wife of William Dotts of Dennisville, NJ; and Rick Anton Ortwein, husband of Amy of Philadelphia, PA. Rose?s warmth and humor will be missed by her eight grandchildren: Daniel, Kelly, Benjamin, Maggie, Jessica, Max, Allison, and Adam.

The Members of the St. Anne?s Sodality will lead us in praying the Rosary on Friday February 23, 2007 at 5 PM in Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem with a visitation to follow from 6-8 PM and another calling hour on Saturday February 24, 2007 from 8:30-9:30 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 24, 2007 at 10AM in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Friary, 3918 Chipman Rd. Easton, PA 18045, which was a place of meditation and peace for Rose.
