Ross E. Hopple, Jr.

Ross E. Hopple, Jr., of Bethlehem, PA, formerly of York, Passed away Tuesday, January 9th at Manor Care Nursing Home in Bethlehem after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hopple was born on March 10, 1931 in York, the son of Ross E. Hopple, Sr. and the late Margaretta Heller Hopple. He was a graduate of West York High School and the Pennsylvania State University?s College of Engineering. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Prior to his illness, Mr. Hopple was employed as General manager, Technical Minerals Processing Division, at Fuller Company in Bethlehem. In addition, he was employed as Manager of Engineering at the former Koppers Company in York before moving to Bethlehem. Mr. Hopple traveled extensively throughout the world on engineering projects for both companies.

Mr. Hopple is survived by his father, Ross E. Hopple, Sr. of Treasure Island, Florida; two sons, Ross W. Hopple of York and William R. Hopple of Catasauqua; a daughter, Margaretta A. Hopple of Whitehall, PA; and a grandson in York. He is also survived by his brother, John Hopple of Phoenix, Arizona.

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. today January 11, 2007 from 11-1 PM. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, York.
