Rudolph Damhosl, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Hospice House of St. Luke's. He was born January 5, 1928 to Theresa Windish and Rudolph Damhosl. A son of a tailor, Rudy grew up on the southside of Bethlehem where he worked in retail for Warners Cut Rate Store until 1972 when he was asked to run the convenience store in Martin Towers. It was in this store that thousands of people considered him a friend. In addition to his usual stock, he carried the entire line of Bethlehem Steel items with the company's signature H Beam Logo. He became the international outlet for sending it to steel locations around the globe and to other companies around the world.
Rudy and his wife Josephine celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on January 22nd. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Judy Kopy and her husband Russ Kopy and Debbie Damhosl-Piger and her husband Dean Piger; a sister, Sr. Marie Juliana, O.S.F. and brothers, John and Frank. He will also be dearly missed by his three granddaughters Natalie, Maria and Nina.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of St. Luke's 1510 Valley Center Parkway Suite 200 Bethlehem, PA 18017
