Russell Harris Browne

Russell Harris Browne, 95, of Fountain Hill, died at Sacred Heart Senior Living on Sunday, October 19, 2014; which would have been the 73rd wedding anniversary of Russell and his late wife, Helen M. (Roseman) Browne. He was born April 25, 1919 in Bethlehem; son of the late Russell Harris and Harriet (Carpenter) Browne.

Russell served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater as a photographer. He attended Lehigh University and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he worked as a metallurgist for 42 years. Russell was also an avid bowler and woodworker.

Russell will be dearly missed by his sons, Francis R. and his wife, Peggy of North Huntingdon, PA; James R. and his wife, Judy of LaGrange, GA and Leonard T. and his companion, Mary Lou DeBlass of Catasauqua; as well as 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Hunter.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9-9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
