Russell P. Kopy

Russell “Russ” P. Kopy, 69, of Bethlehem passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 22, 1953, he was the son of Barbara (Leopitzi) and the late Russell Kopy. He was the loving husband of Judy M. (Damhosl) Kopy.

Russ earned his bachelor’s degree from Moravian College and went on to earn his Master’s degree from Lehigh University. He was an avid golfer and member of Saucon Valley Country Club for over 30 years. You could often find Russ enjoying a delicious meal while sipping on a good vodka martini, surrounded by his family and friends. Russ was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. One of Russ’ most cherished places was the Greenbrier, where he enjoyed many trips with his family over the years, marrying his beloved wife Judy there in 1994, and later seeing his daughter get married there as well.

He had a love for all dogs, often stopping to pet and love on dogs that he had never even met before. His selflessness and generosity will be greatly missed. Planning events and surprises for his loved ones brought Russ great joy. Russ loved his family, and he would do anything to make them happy and feel loved.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Judy M. Kopy; daughter, Nina Jo (Kopy) Eisemann and her husband, Jon; mother, Barbara Kopy, brother, Michael Kopy and sister, Tamara Chilelli, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. in the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial bench to be placed at Saucon Valley Country Club or to St. Anne’s Church.
