Saverio A. Pasqualucci, 82, of Bethlehem died on Friday, April 7, 2017. He was born May 26, 1934, in Bethlehem, son of the late Armando and Mamie (Madelena) Pasqualucci. He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Jane Major (Dickert) Pasqualucci.
Saverio is a 1952 graduate of Liberty High School where he was class president for 3 years and participated as a trombone player in the marching band. He also earned his engineering degree from Lehigh University. Saverio retired after 30 years of service from Western Electric, where he worked as a purchaser and later a supervisor from 1960-1987. After retirement, Saverio owned and operated Luccis Restaurant in Sea Isle City, NJ from 1986-2000. He was a manager in Sales and Purchasing for Durant Enterprises; a minority owned engineering Co. from 1985-1997.
Saverio served as a Eucharistic minister, leader of song and lector as well as teaching both children and adult CCD classes, while he was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. He was extremely proud of his 45 year involvement with the Cursillo Movement where he served as lay director. He also was an active mentor to many young men, sharing his values and outlook on life.
He was recognized in the Philippines for his valuable services and support rendered as Resource Speaker on “Hour to Make Decisions and their Consequences” during the Values and Leadership Building Seminar.
Saverio was an avid golfer; with three holes-in-one in his lifetime. He was proud to have golfed at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club during the 1980 IVB Golf Classic.
He won many medals for table tennis and enjoyed playing the accordion.
Saverio will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty Jane; sons, Michael of Bethlehem; and Dante and his wife, Allison of Los Angeles, CA; as well as his grandchildren, Saverio Michael, Jr., Antonio Dante, Gina Teresa, Mia Rose, and Dante Albert Aldovino Pasqualucci.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 730 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the churchs St. Vincent dePaul Society and/or Fr. Reed Memorial Fund Allentown Cursillo Movement c/o Father Martin Kern, St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Rd., Boyertown, PA 19512. Memo: in memory of Saverio.
