Sister M. Frances Pastusek, Osf

Sister M. Frances (Dolores) Pastusek, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, United States Province, in her 69th year of Profession, died on October 10, 2018, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem, Pa. She was 90.

Sister entered the community in Pittsburgh, Pa., from Holy Trinity Church in Perth Amboy, N.J. in the Diocese of Trenton in 1947 and professed her first vows in 1949 in Mount Assisi Convent Chapel in Pittsburgh, Pa. She received a bachelors degree in Education from Seton Hall and a masters degree in Library Science from Villanova University.

Sister spent many years as an educator and, later, served in religious education, pastoral ministry, outreach to the poor and as a librarian in several locations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth (Zemko) Pastusek; brothers: Joseph, John, Steven and Michael; and sisters: Stephanie Sucheski, Helen Grygo and Ann Ostrowski. She is survived by her religious community, two nephews, a niece and numerous friends.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 12, and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at Monocacy Manor in Bethlehem, Pa. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, also at Monocacy Manor. Arrangements have been made by Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to School Sisters of St. Francis Retirement Fund, 395 Bridle Path Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
