Stanley A. Gawlik, 75, of Bethlehem, PA passed Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St.Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born September 4, 1938, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Lucy A. (McCarthy) and Stanley S. Gawlik. He was married to Carole (Flemming) Gawlik, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage this past May 15th.
Stan was a graduate of Moravian College. He worked for Bethlehem Steel, for 33 years, in the Bethlehem Structural Products Division as a project engineer. After retiring, he worked for the Miller Keystone Blood Center, for 14 years. Stanley also served his country in the United States Navy.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carole, brother Gary Gawlik of FL, nephews, Darren Gawlik of MI, Richie Gawlik of FL, Kirk Flemming of Bethlehem, and niece, Kristin Flemming Swanick of Drexel Hill.
Stan was preceded in death by a nephew, George Myers V.
Stan, or “Uncle Stan,” as he was known to many of us, will be remembered for his quiet sense of humor, his willingness to help whenever he was asked, and above all, he will always be remembered as a “good man.” He was a loving husband first, but always a kind and decent person to everyone who knew him. Stan was the kind of friend everyone should have, at least once in their lifetime. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
An announcement of the memorial service date and time will be announced in the Morning Call, at a later date.
