Stefana Monica Wayne

Stefana Monica Yankowski Wayne, 93, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services in Bethlehem. Born July 20, 1917 in Chester, PA to the late Monica Prygon and Michael Yankowski. Stefana was the loving wife of the late Edward H. Wayne.

Stefana grew up in Eckley, PA graduating from Foster Township High School. She worked for the Chickadee Dress Company as a seamstress. Stefana was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Society. After St. Stanislaus closed she joined Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Stefana had several hobbies that she enjoyed such as cooking, baking sewing, knitting and gardening. She also enjoyed reading to her great grandchildren and the time she had with the rest of her family.

Stefana will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carolyn wife of Frank Kwiatek of Hanover Township and Georgia Polansky of Harleysville, brother, Michael Yankowski of Las Vegas, sister, Jean Barna of McAdoo, PA, grandchildren, Lisa, Scott, Jennifer and Mark. She is also survived by her eight great grandchildren, Aleksander, Ariana, Emily, Josh, Jake, Samantha, Jonathan and Beau.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine, Leona and Monica and a son-in-law, Theodore Polansky.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-8 PM. A calling period will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 10-11 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Stefana's name to Notre Dame Catholic Church.
