Stella Marie Hussar

Stella Marie Hussar, 94, of Northampton and formerly of Bethlehem, passed into the hands of our Lord in her home on Friday, November 20, 2015. She was born November 2, 1921 in Roseto, PA; daughter of the late Anselmo and Philomena Tarola. Stella was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Louis S. “Whitey” Hussar.

Stella worked a majority of her career as a sewing machine operator at Lehigh Dress in Fountain Hill and later retired from Lehigh Frocks. She was also a member of the ILGWU. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bethlehem and more recently a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Egypt. Stella took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker and she was also an amazing baker of homemade treats from her own original recipes. She will always be remembered for her generous, kind, and caring spirit.



Stella was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family; daughter, Barbara Miller and her husband, Terry of Northampton; her grandson, Scott Miller and her great granddaughters, Kira and Karsyn all of Texas; and her brother Arthur Tarola of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her sisters, Antoinette Antoccia and Fanny Giandomenico and her brothers, Ralph, Albert, Daniel, and Henry Tarola.

A special thank you to all of her family, friends, and neighbors who visited and helped raise her spirits. Especially St. Lukes Hospice who made her comfortable, cared for and loved her; including her compassionate nurse, Mary and caregiver, Sharon and all the others that took care of her.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 9-10 a.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 417 E. 5th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lukes Hospice, c/o Development, 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
