Stephen Albert Heptner

June 6, 1967 — September 19, 2016

Stephen Albert Heptner, 49, of Bethlehem, died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Manor Care in Allentown after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born June 6, 1967, in Bethlehem, he was the son of Donald Heptner and the late Dorothy (Heidecker) Heptner.

Stephen was an “urban cowboy,” a fan of NASCAR and country music with the ability to tell stories and jokes that made both friends and strangers smile. Steve loved the country life, and often enjoyed spending time on local farms tending the land and caring for the animals. Steve will be missed by all those who knew him, family and friends alike who enjoyed his quick wit and beautiful smile.

Steve started his professional career in law enforcement and later worked in the plumbing trade for several Lehigh Valley plumbing and HVAC companies. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his father, Donald; brother, Donald Heptner, Jr. and wife Melissa of Bethlehem; sister, Stephanie, wife of David Bonsall of Connecticut; and six nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Marianne, Alissa, David, Lauren and Colin.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Steves life will be held on Saturday, October 8th at Connell Funeral home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 10 a.m. A calling hour will be held from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
