Stephen F. Kovacs

June 3, 1917 — December 5, 2011

Stephen F. Kovacs, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, December 05, 2011 at Alexandria Manor.

He was born, June 3, 1917; the son of the late John and Caroline Nemes Kovacs.

Stephen was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 60 years, Rose M. Shegina Kovacs, in March of this year.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

Stephen was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bethlehem and more recently of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem.

In 1971, Stephen retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 41 years of service. He was a member of the USWA Local 2598.

Stephen was also a member of the Graber and Lucas Lodge.

He will be lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Donchez, Irene Shinko and Ethel Gregor and his brothers, Charles, Ernest and William.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020 at 10 AM. A calling period will be held in the church from 9-10 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
