Stephen F. Potter, 91, formerly of Bethlehem, died Friday, June 11, 2010, under St. Luke's Hospice Care

at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Stephen and Ann Pinter Potter. He was the loving husband of Ann M. Ranek Potter for 64 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with rank of Sergeant.

He was a Charter and Life Member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3405, Coopersburg.

He was a member of Saucon Masonic Lodge 469, Coopersburg; Rajah Shrine Club, Lehigh Shrine Club, and Lehigh Valley High 12 Club, Allentown.

From 1946-1964, he owned and operated the American Windish & Hungarian Publishing Co. in Bethlehem which published two foreign Windish & Hungarian weekly newspapers.

In 1965, he joined partnership with Harry Ranek in owning and operating the Driftwood Restaurant in Coopersburg on Route 309 until his retirement in 1986, but continued to be active in the restaurant till it was purchased by Burger King in 1992.

Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ann of Bethlehem; brother, John Potter of Hellertown; daughter, Sheryll, wife of Bill Votral of Northampton; grandson, Matthew Votral and his wife, Beata, of Royal Oak, MI; granddaughter, Tami, wife of Tim Coughlan and his great-granddaughter, Madelyn Ann Coughlan all of Northampton.

Services: Are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Connell Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
