Stephen J. Posavek

Stephen John Posavek, Jr., 70, of Branford, CT died on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice after a courageous battle. He was born January 29, 1943, in Bethlehem, the son of the late Stephen J. Posavek, Sr. and the late Helen M. (Barback) Posavek.

Stephen was a 1961 graduate of Liberty High School and proudly served his country as a U. S. Army Sergeant and Radio Point Man during the Vietnam War. He was employed by WalMart as a supervisor. Stephen was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia; he enjoyed watching football and baseball, playing cards and spending time with family and old friends on his yearly vacations back home.

Stephen will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family; sons, Michael of California and Rodney of Connecticut; daughters, Stephanie of Arizona, Kimberly and Amy, both of Texas; a brother, William of Bethlehem; sisters, Shirley of Bethlehem and Sylvia of Connecticut as well as eight grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Allentown Rescue Mission 355 Hamilton St. P.O. Box 748 Allentown, PA 18105-0748.
