Sylvia J. Bicking

Sylvia J. Bicking, 87, formerly of Bethlehem passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 19, 1936 in Hazelton, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Zavodny) and Michael Wargo. She was the wife of the late Clement F. “Skip” Bicking, Jr. They were married for 59 years before his passing in 2016.

Sylvia dedicated over 19 years to the residents of Cedarbrook Nursing Home Fountain Hill where she worked as an LPN. She was a loyal member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fountain Hill as well as the Autumn Club of Bethlehem Township. She was an avid bowler, a talented gardener, and volunteered countless hours in her community. Sylvia’s family was her pride and joy, and she especially loved and cherished her time with her grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Keith Bicking and his wife Dawn of Bath, Gary Bicking and his wife Elaine of Colorado Springs, CO, Timothy Bicking of Colorado Springs, CO and Tammy Hale and her husband Jeff of Lords Valley, PA; brother, Michael Wargo; sisters, Elaine Groller, Flora McCormick, Elizabeth Wolfe and Lynn Janousek; grandchildren, Chris, Casey, Bonnie, Emma and Hannah and 7 great grandchildren. Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bicking and her sister, Rebecca Pappas.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at Morgenland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 1059 Delaware Ave. Fountain Hill, PA 18015.
