Tekla Morrison

Tekla Morrison, 93, of Bethlehem died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. Born in Ukraine she was the daughter of the late, Evan and Pazsha (Bila) Prach.

Tekla worked as an assistant supervisor in the garment industry at Fountain Hill Mills. She was a member of the ILGWU and served as a union representative. Tekla was a devoted member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bethlehem, where she volunteered much of her time from singing in the church choir to the Ladies Auxiliary and many other church activities. In her free time Tekla loved to crochet and cook. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.

Tekla will be lovingly remembered by her children, David Morrison and his wife Celeste, Helen Nagle and Donna Chromiak, grandchildren, Donnie and Michael Downey, Shannon Morrison, Michelle Trudel, and Lindsay and Courtney Chromiak, and great grandchildren, Zachary Downey, Thomas, Benjamin and Jackson Trudel. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Downey, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM with a Parastas Service at 7 PM. An Office of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1826 Kenmore Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 10 AM. Burial will be at St. Josaphats Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church.
