Terry W. Gillispie, 55, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Born in Rahway, NJ, he was the son of Gerry W. and Sally (McKnight) Gillispie of Bethlehem. He is preceded in death by Helen Gillispie Harral and Minnie and James McKnight.
Terry was employed by the Penn Foundation, Sellersville, where he worked as a recovery coach for the past 10 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem. Terry enjoyed acting in theater productions, was a member of Les Chanteurs at Freedom High School and graduation speaker for The Class of 1978 at Freedom. He attended The College of Wooster, Ohio, where he sang in the Wooster Chorus, took a semester abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was awarded honors for an independent study thesis. He received a B.A. with honors in 1982 with a Major in Psychology, and Minor in Philosophy
Terry will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Sally and Gerry; brother, Thomas J. and his wife Pam of Acton, MA; sister, Gwen L. Gillispie of St. Petersburg, FL; niece, Elizabeth L. and husband Kenny Garreau; nephews, T. J. Gillispie and Eduardo D. Cintron. He was also close to an aunt, Adele Gillispie Juzi, his Fathers sister, and to her children, Chris, Glenn and Eric.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church, 2344 Center St, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the McKnight Mission Scholarship Fund, founded by Terrys grandparents on his Mothers side, c/o First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem.
