Theodore Kovach,

Theodore “Teddy,” AKA “Sonny” Kovach, Sr., 80, of Bethlehem, died on December 23, 2017. He was born in Hellertown, the son of the late Julius and Thresa (Borda) Kovach. For 46 years, he was the loving husband of the late Helen A. (Lakics) Kovach.

After graduating from Liberty High School, Teddy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Teddy was a member of Holy Ghost Church, the MORA Club and the Coplay Saengerbund. He enjoyed Polka music, trips to the casino, baseball and football, traveling, especially to Branson, MO and organizing trips to see Mother Angelica in Birmingham and Hanceville, Ala.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Connie, wife of John Boyko of Lower Saucon Twsp.; his son, Theodore, of Whitehall; grandchildren, Theodore, Jessie, John, Eric, Audrey and Athena; brother, Brent Kovach; sisters, Shirley Schultz and Gail DiSalvio and his companion Eleanor Bennick. Teddy was preceded in death by his sister, Jean (McBride) Beahm.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 9:30a.m-11:30a.m at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Entombment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
