Theodore Sawruk, 77, formerly of Bethlehem, PA died on Monday, January 30, 2012 in Auburn, AL.
He was born March 19, 1934 in Bethlehem, PA; son of the late Theodore Sawruk and Kathryn Wasylciu Hanusych and stepson of the late Sofat Hanusych.
Theodore is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Diana Moon Sawruk.
He proudly served as a Medic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Theodore graduated from Temple University in 1958 and began his 33 year career as a Pharmacist for the former Thrift Drug in Bethlehem.
He was a member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Theodore will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diana; his daughter Donna Golden, with whom he resided in Auburn, AL; his son, Theodore Randall Sawruk of CT and three grandchildren, Krista, Danielle and James.
He was preceded in death by his sister Anne Kovacs and his brother Walter Sawruk.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Parastas will begin at 7PM. Another viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 8-9:15 AM.
Office of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10 AM at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church 1826 Kenmore Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
Burial will follow with full military honors at St. Josaphat Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
