Theresa Steigler Vegh

Theresa (Scherer) Steigler Vegh, 86, of Bethlehem Twsp, died on Thursday, January 14, 2016. Born in Band, Hungary she was the daughter of the late Katharina (Eckert) and John Scherer. She was the wife of Geza Vegh, Sr. and the late John Steigler.

Theresa worked as a seamstress for 35 years as a member of the ILGWU. She loved gardening, sewing, baking, especially strudel and Kiffles, and making her homemade chicken noodle soup with her own noodles. She most of all, loved being with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Geza Vegh, Sr.; daughters, Gisela M. Nansteel, wife of Kenneth F. Nansteel, Jr, and Sylvia R. Steigler-Hahn, wife of Mark T. Hahn; brother John Scherer; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Steigler and granddaughter, Erika Ann Nansteel.

A viewing will be Monday, January 18, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 9-10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church of Bethlehem, 1817 First St. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial to follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and the Hungarian Evangelical Reform Church, 635 High St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
