Thomas J. Hudak, Sr.

Thomas J. Hudak, Sr. 84 of Bethlehem Township died Tuesday Aug. 27th at his home.

He and his wife Mildred "Millie" Diehl Hudak celebrated their 28th Wedding Anniversary earlier this year.

Born in Eckley, Pa he is the son of the late John and Mary Partika Hudak.

Thomas worked for Bethlehem Contracting retiring as the Plant Manager in 1976. He also had worked for Bob Young Trucking and he had owned and operated Hudaks Transportation which is now owned by his son Tom.

An active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem Township for many years he served as the Saturday Evening Usher for the past 15 years.

He proudly served his country as a member of the

U. S. Army serving in the South Pacific during

WW II. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid stamp collector and sportsman. In the 1960's, he served on Bethlehem City Council under Mayor Gordon Payrow

Thomas was a loyal member of Bethlehem Elks # 191 for the past 50 years was a Past Exalted Ruler.

Surviving with his wife "Millie" are his son; Thomas Hudak, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Orefield, Pa. Stepsons: Edward Woomer and his wife Karen of Newtown Square, Pa., Joseph Woomer and his wife Vickie of Middletown, Del and Dennis Woomer and his wife Linda of Lovitsville, VA. His daughters: Judy wife of Frank Tupper of Bethlehem, Pa., Jennifer Hudak of Nazareth, Pa., and step daughters; Patricia wife of Michael Wildgen of Lower Nazareth, Pa. Kathleen Crego of Havertown, PA, and Bridget wife of Martin McEnrue of Lower Nazareth, Pa. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Hudak of Allentown, twenty one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Jeannett Hartzell Neith, his brothers; John, Stephen and Albert and his sisters; Irene, Helen, and Margaret.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday Aug. 30th at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3219 Santee Road Bethlehem, Pa

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street Bethlehem, Pa. with the Elks Service at 7:30 p.m.

A second visitation will be on Saturday from 9:15 a.m. to 9:50 a.m at the church.

Contributions, in memory of Thomas, may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
