Thomas J. Saemmer

Thomas J. Saemmer, 62, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.

He was born January 3, 1948 in Fountain Hill, the son of the late Aloysius and Katherine Matsick Saemmer.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Virginia Gori Saemmer of Bethlehem.

He graduated from Hellertown high School, served in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co.

Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Virginia; sister, Lynn Transue and her husband William Transue of Bethlehem; son, Bernard J. Saemmer and his wife Carmen of Bethlehem; daughters, Christina Saemmer of Havre de Grace, MD and Natalie Saemmer of Clarksburg, PA as well as his granddaughter Kendall.

He was a member of the Dewey Fire Co., Hellertown Democratic Assoc. and Hellertown Historical Society. His hobbies included softball, golf and watching his favorite sports teams, the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco Giants.

Services have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem and will be private at the convenience of the family.
