Todd (Toddy) Raymond MacMurtrie, Jr., 41, of Wind Gap passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, surrounded by family and friends, after a well-fought 3-year battle with colon cancer. Born on October 2, 1982, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Todd R. and Carol MacMurtrie.
After graduating from Liberty High School in 2001, where he wore #35 for the Hurricanes football team, Todd completed a bachelor's degree in exercise science at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Always one to assist a friend or family member in need, his chosen occupation at Service Electric was a testament to his unwavering selflessness and integrity.
Nothing brought Todd more joy than being a loving husband and a very proud and protective father. He was a loyal friend, a frequent golfer, an avid sportsman, and enjoyed both riding his Harley-Davidson and watching the Dallas Cowboys crush their opposing team. In the spirit of competition, he enjoyed participating in "the Murph", the Spartan Race, and in other tests of strength and endurance.
Todd possessed an almost unbounded charm: his laugh was contagious, his personality was welcoming, and his hug could make anyone feel safe and secure. Toddy's presence was felt and will always be missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Kiira (Johnson) MacMurtrie; daughter, Blake Leigh; mother, Carol MacMurtrie; sister, Carissa MacMurtrie and her fiance, Andrew Wilczynski; father and mother-in-law, Jay and Sandie (Talaber) Johnson; brother-in-law Jared Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Holly (Kemper) Johnson of Murrysville; and nieces, Charlotte Day and Sienna Johnson and a nephew, Wesley Johnson. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Todd R. MacMurtrie, Sr. and uncle, Bruce MacMurtrie.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 12-4 p.m. at the American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St. Coplay, PA 18037.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Fight Colorectal Cancer, 134 Park Central Square #210, Springfield, MO 65806.
